INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR

SATYENDRA KUMAR KASHYAP MERIT SCHOLARSHIP” FOR B.TECH. STUDENTS OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AT ZAKIR HUSSAIN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (ZHCT) AT ALIGARH MUSLIM UNIVERSITY FOR 2010-2011.

Mr. Satyendra Kumar Kashyap, obtained his B.E –Mechanical Engineering from Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology, Aligarh Muslim University in 1966. He retired as Superintending Engineer, UP State Vigilance in 2004. Mr. Kashyap passed away on 12th June 2010 in Lucknow He was a proud Aligarian and very passionate about his Alma Mater. This scholarship is established by his daughter, Deepali Kashyap as a small tribute towards her father’s alma mater, Aligarh Muslim University.

B. Tech. Students of Mechanical Engineering (year 1-4) at Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology, Aligarh Muslim University who fulfill the academic and other conditions stated on our website, should apply to AEEF with the particulars in the application form latest by November 15, 2010.

SATYENDRA KUMAR KASHYAP MERIT SCHOLARSHIP - Guidelines and Instructions for Application

Satyendra Kumar Kashyap Merit Scholarship for B.Tech. Student of Mechanical Engineering at Zakir Hussain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCT) at Aligarh Muslim University

Mr. Satyendra Kumar Kashyap, obtained his B.E –Mechanical Engineering from Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology, Aligarh Muslim University. He was one of the meritorious students of the batch 1962-1966 and received several scholarships.

Though he got offers for higher studies but due to financial constraints he preferred job over higher studies and joined Department of Irrigation, U.P. Govt. in 1966 as Assistant Engineer. He was promoted through the ranks over the years and retired as Superintending Engineer, UP State Vigilance in 2004. After retirement he was involved in a number of cross over operations.

Mr. Kashyap passed away on 12th June 2010 in Lucknow and is survived by his loving daughter-Deepali Kashyap, Sisters- Dr. Veena Kashyap & Mrs. Rama Gupta and Brother- Dr. V.K. Kashyap.

Mr. Kashyap was a proud Aligarian and very passionate about his Alma Mater. This scholarship, “Satyendra Kumar Kashyap Merit Scholarship” established by his daughter is a small tribute towards his alma mater, allowing a deserving candidate in each year to continue education irrespective of financial, cultural or social background.

Scholarship Guidelines

1.    The scholarship to B.Tech. Students of Mechanical Engineering, one for each year of engineering (year 1-4), will be based on in accordance to the following rules:

2.    Only those students who are admitted to B.Tech. program through Entrance Test for Admission will be eligible for the award of the merit scholarships.

3.    There is no disciplinary action pending against him/her and has satisfactory attendance requirements for the past two semesters for which merit scholarship are awarded.

4.    The scholarship will provide Rs. 1200/month for 12 months.

5.    The amount of scholarships will not be paid to the students, but it will be deposited in university towards his/her University & Hall dues and the balance, if any, shall be paid to the scholarship holder.

6.    Applicant should not be in receipt of any Scholarship/Financial Aid of more than Rs.600.00 pm from any other source.

7.    The merit criteria for the award of merit scholarships shall be as follows:

a)      For students admitted to I Year B.Tech. Class in Mechanical Engineering, the order of merit shall be determined:

       I.          50% on the basis of the performance at the Entrance Test for Admission.

     II.          And 50% on the basis Class 12th & 10th Marks.

b)      For students joining II Year B.Tech. class (Mechanical Engineering) after accumulating prescribed Earned Credits (EC) for the first two semesters, the order of merit shall be determined on the basis of CPI at the end of first year (the first two semester Examinations in their first attempt).

c)      For students joining III Year B.Tech. class (in the Mechanical Engineering), after accumulating the prescribed Earned Credits for the Second two semesters, the order of merit shall be determined on the basis of cumulative CPI at the end of Second Year (Four semester examinations in their first attempt).

d)      For students joining IV Year B.Tech. class (in the Mechanical Engineering), after accumulating the prescribed Earned Credits for the third two semesters, the order of merit shall be determined on the basis of CPI at the end of third year (Six semester Examinations in their first attempt).

e)      In case of tie in a position/rank, the order of merit shall be determined on the basis of the performance at the end of preceding two semester examinations together. In case, the performance in the preceding two semester Examinations also happens to be the same, the performance in the two semester Examinations previous to that will be considered, and so on, till the tie is broken.

 

Instructions for Filling up Scholarship Application Form 2010-2011

1)    Signed and Scanned copy of Application Form, attested Mark sheet/s and other documents should be submitted by email.

2)    Use Black Pen and legible capital letters. Illegible/incomplete and carelessly filled-in-Applications are liable to be rejected.

3)    Educational Qualification should be entered in order as per Application.

4)    Percentage of Marks must be accurate upto two place after decimal.

5)    Some Boards for the improvement of division include certain marks of additional subject in the total marks (Numerator) without corresponding addition in the Denominator. In such cases while calculating percentage either the additional marks be deducted from the Numerator or corresponding addition in the Denominator be made.

6)    Where results are declared in the form of letter grades and/or a grade point average, the student should provide an official explanatory statement issued by an examination Board/University on the details of the grading system and its equivalence to a marks or class based scoring system.

7)    Applicants for scholarships must submit a certificate from the Principal of ZHCET establishing their bonafide status as a student for the specified course, year and satisfactory attendance requirements for the past two semesters.

8)    Applicants for scholarships must submit a certificate from the Provost of their Hall regarding any other scholarship in the current academic year specifying the name of the scholarship and the amount received.

9)    Applicants for scholarships must submit a certificate from the Proctor’s office certifying that there is no disciplinary action pending against him/her.

10) Write briefly in about 100-150 words, justifying your eligibility for this scholarship, and any other relevant information you want to provide.

11) Those students who have received Scholarship/financial assistance from any source for the academic year 2010-2011 must indicate information in the prescribe column.

12) All application forms must include a functional email address of the applicant. Successful candidates will be informed about the scholarship award by email ONLY.
